今年是Greg Monroe來到密爾瓦基公鹿的第二個球季，但他的交易傳聞一直沒斷過，最近球隊又起了動他的老人電動床推薦念頭。
Monroe在2015年離開待了5年的底特律活塞，與公鹿簽下3年5000萬美元合約，2017-18年球季是球員選擇權，他很可能在2017年夏天就選擇跳脫。
若他選擇執行最後一年合約，該季年薪是1790萬，但錢不是重點，重點是他不太適應以「希臘怪胎」Giannis Antetokounmpo、Jabari Parker為主的球隊風格。
Monroe本季28場出賽都是替補，平均9.6分、6.7籃板，幾乎都是生涯新低，陣中兩名主力長人John Henson、Miles Plumlee的合約都到2020年才結束，因此處理掉Monroe對球隊來說是最簡單的方式。
